* If you are aware of any recent sales please pass the details on! *
We are now pooling sales details as they become available as well as recognised industry information. Whilst this should help you put a realistic value on your car for agreed value insurance, or heaven forbid, if you decide to sell it, please use the information below with caution and a measure of judgement. For instance, your insurers idea of agreed value may well be the replacement cost of your vehicle at a specialist dealership rather than an auction sale price where cars are generally 'sold as seen'.
Auction results and private sales will vary depending upon factors such as condition, location of the sale and particularly the individual circumstances of the vendor – for example are they desperate to sell. In addition some cars are sold on platforms that do not give adequate exposure to the market. These variables can result in a spread in sale prices.
You should also consider that the limited sale evidence of these rare classic Hondas in comparison to say more mainstream classics means that market trends are more difficult to interpret.
For these reasons the Club is refraining from placing values on specific cars for insurance purposes but we hope the information below will help you and your insurers arrive at a realistic value.
Most of the main classic car publications such as Classic and Sports Car and Classic Cars have regularly updated monthly price guides which normally include the S800 and N and Z cars as well as early CRXs and even S2000s.
Hagerty Insurance have introduced an online tool to help you value your car. All you need to do is click here to launch the app – and you can get an approximate value of your vehicle.
it must be remembered that this online tool is only a 'guesstimate' and it's only as good as the latest update of their database as well as how realistic you are about the condition of your car.
Bringatrailer (which is an auction company based in America) publishes recent sales results and links to recent auction sales.
Please click on the links below to visit their various web pages. This will bring up any current car auctions plus graphs indicating recent auction trends as well as all recent completed sales including pictures so you can verify their condition.
* Note the recent S600 convertible sale via Bringatrailer at $104,000!
By definition this is not a complete list.
